Q: Can this be used without the Marshall app? Can someone just connect via Bluetooth directly?
A: Hello Chaz, thanks for your question. The Acton II Bluetooth speaker can be connected to your device without the Marshall Bluetooth app; in fact, you will always need to manually connect the speaker to your phone or device directly to be able to stream to the speaker. The app will provide some additional features such as remote control, an equalizer and firmware updates. If you don't use the app, we recommend connecting the speaker to the app regularly to check for any available updates.
Q: Can the speaker Still play aloud while the headphones are plugged in?
A: The 3.5 aux input on the speaker is an input only, it is not an output that can be used to connect to headphones: it is not possible to connect headphones to this speaker.
A: YES, but... If your player/turntable has a built in pre-amp you should be able to connect directly to this speaker. When you look at the player,, if you see "line" output or "aux" output then you likely have a built in pre-amp. If you only see "phono" then you need to connect to a pre-amp then to the speaker. If the outputs are "line" or "aux" and are RCA (red and black) then get a male RCA to 3.5mm cable. If output is only phono you'll have to find an inline pre-amp that's wired male RCA to 3.5mm or with cables to fit inputs from player and outputs to 3.5mm speaker. This speaker is exceptional and will be the perfect match for a record player with it's gorgeous retro styling and built in brass knobs for adjusting treble and bass. In addition to making everyone jealous of the looks it will then blow them away with how much great sound comes out. I hope you come back and read this and buy it because I love this awesome speaker and it's absolutely perfectly suited for matching up with a record player. $150 is a great price too. I paid much more years ago and it was a great value as it's still my favorite speaker
Q: Does the Acton II have a rechargeable battery?
A: No. Doesn’t use battery.
