A: "Water resistant." Rain/Snow is not a problem, however, this would not be a suitable doorbell if you live in a pineapple under the sea.
A: Our priority is giving our customers choice and making devices for every home. The new Nest Doorbell can be powered with wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz, for continuous charging. It also has a local storage fallback that allows it to record videos for up to one hour during an internet outage and also for battery-powered cameras and doorbells, during a power outage. supports both Nest Aware subscriptions. With a Nest Aware subscription, you’ll get 30 days of event video history. With Nest Aware Plus, you’ll get 60 days. Nest Doorbell (battery), even when wired for continuous charging, does not offer 10 days of 24/7 video history with Nest Aware Plus.
Q: How do I charge my Nest doorbell?
A: can i charge my nest doorbell while hooked up to my low voltage bell wires or do i have to disconnect them
Q: Will it work with the existing Nest App?
A: No - only Google Home app
Q: Where can I buy a replacement battery? How much does the replacement battery cost?
A: The internal battery is not replaceable by the customer. You have to remove the whole doorbell from the mounting bracket using the supplied metal "key", bring it inside and plug it in to recharge it... about every 2-3 months.
Q: How long will it last on battery power alone?
A: Like any battery device that depends on its frequency of use as well as temperature. Batteries tend to not last as long when its very cold outside. Typically around a month for average use is a statement in the literature however it says you may see a longer or shorter time between charges based on you use. We wired this one to an old transformer powered mechanical doorbell in the house so it has constant power. But another brand we had that was battery only lasted about 4-5 months between charges due to low use.
A: Yes! It should! If you have the Google Hub, it will show a short video clip. ☺
Q: Is it possible to steal the device? If so, any recommended counter measures to avoid it?
A: Nest Doorbell (Battery) comes with all the tools you need to secure it in place. Anyone will have a hard time pulling Nest Doobell (Battery) out from its base plate without damaging your wall since it can only be removed using a release tool that also comes in the box.

Easy to use, clear video. I had it installed on the side of my townhouse garage so that I could tell when packages are delivered and trash is picked up. Uses an included tool to remove it from its frame for recharging using a USB-C cable. App is simple to use. Goes along with other google Home devices I use. The design is simple and straightforward. Battery usage depends on how much you want it to record. Lets you pick what you want it to make a recording of: people, animals, vehicles (or a combination of these). Announces a bell ring through a google assistant in the home. It's bigger and heavier than I thought it would be from the photos. That's not an issue, but I expected something smaller and less noticeable. A small discreet circle around the buzzer at the bottom lights up when it's recording. I'm not sure my neighbors appreciate the fact that my doorbell lights up and records them every time they walk by with their dog.

Google Nest doorbell has become an essential for my home! I was weary of it at first, I will be honest! But now i can't imagine our daily life without it. Being able to see clearly who is at the door, being able to talk to people (ie. Solicitors, or that long-awaited package from amazon!!) without opening the door is huge for a SAHM. Especially when you have littles, and you may not be in the greatest area, or honestly the scary world we live in now. Pairing the doorbell with the nest camera over the garage and in the patio area, as well as the nest hub, has been one of the most stress-relieving choices I've made. I 100% reccomend these items, we've never felt more in control of our safety!

Really like the simple and clean design of this. IMO it looks a lot better then Ring. Can be put anywhere with Wi-Fi in battery mode, also has the option to be hardwired to your old doorbell wiring in most cases. Has good field of view and allows you to see faces but also packages on the ground. With nest aware you can name people, and when they come to your hose it will say “John is at the door” instead of “someone”. Pretty neat. Only thing I don’t like is there is no option for 27-7 recording like my old indoor nest cams. Sometimes this will start recording an event late, or not at all. Also the resolution isn’t 1080, so picture quality is good, but could be better.
