It is an amazing device. I was very surprised with it's performance, way better than I imagined. I use it mainly for video edition, my last laptop was a Ryzen 5 with windows and some videos that took 5-10 minutes to render on it, takes less than 30 seconds to render on the Macbook Pro. The design is great too, the materials, the screen, everything feels like a premium product. The touch bar is very useful to me, since I write in portuguese which has a different layout for the keyboard. Very satisfied.

This laptop is absolutely amazing! I was a bit concerned at first about the 8GB RAM but the M1 chip more than makes up for it and I’ve been able to run large games with mods on it. I haven’t even had to upgrade the RAM. The interface is smooth and amazing, the touch bar is extremely useful for quick interactions. I also use it for school and its performance is top tier, with it having one of the best track pads I’ve ever experienced. I even do some digital art on it and have never bought a mouse for it. After a year of constant use it’s still in amazing shape!

I’ve had this laptop for over a year now and all I can say is; The “M1” chip in this MacBook late model has transformed my computing experience! It’s quickly processes everything fast, handling multiple apps with seamless precision. Battery life is great too (multiple school days on one charge). Plus, the retina display makes everything from text to videos incredibly sharp and easy on the eyes. The last bit of icing on the cake is that it is a Mac which inherently makes it more difficult to get any kind of virus or additional bloatware accidentally installed.

One of the best things is the battery life – it lasts for ages, so you don't have to worry about carrying a charger everywhere. This computer is absolutely amazing. I haven't used a Mac as my daily laptop in close to 10 years now. The performance of this computer is nothing short of impressive. There are faster machines out there but those all come with the expense of added weight, heat, and especially fan noise. Battery life is unreal. The past hour I've been on it with the brightness at max while streaming tidal and browsing the internet while returning emails....I'm still at 92% while writing this. It has been a long time since I've been able to use a laptop.....on my lap. Bottom is ice cold even when doing photo editing. It even has plenty of power to emulate windows using the Beta version of Parallels. It's the ultimate portable powerhouse.

Amazing MacBook!! The MacBook with M1 is blazing fast, even the standard base model with no upgrades. This was a replacement from an iPad since I needed more of a computer feel and software for my work. I now use sidecar with my iPad for additional display. I've run into ZERO issues with any software or applications not working with the M1 chip. I've heard of problems arising but I myself have not come across that at all. If you have any other Apple products and are looking into buying a computer but hesitating on a Mac, SERIOUSLY consider an Apple computer (whether it's an iMac, Mac mini, Pro or Air). The Apple ecosystem is what makes the slightly higher price tag SO worth it. All of your Apple products sync with one another seamlessly and everything you put on your iPhone can be accessed by your MacBook or iPad via iCloud (ecosystem), etc and vice versa, which makes keeping all of your things in "one place" so easy. You can also continue where you left off on one device and pick back up from another. This is what has kept me for years. MacOS is also incredibly easy to use. These computers will last over a decade -- I have a mid-2011 iMac in my office that is still working today. It's an investment but one that will LAST. I work for a tech company and see Windows computers coming in and out for repairs and getting replaced every week. Mac computers are far less frequent. You will love whatever Mac you decide on when you realize just how much you're missing out on from not having one! Amazing, amazing computers. Powerful and secure. Great battery life. Beautiful Retina display. Seamless switching between devices. I could go on and on and on and on...

I am writing this 2 years after purchase, and I am still thrilled with my purchase. I had purchased cheaper laptops in the past with "similar specs", but they always fell short of my expectations. This is truly a workhorse laptop, which still has not failed me. The battery life is still excellent after 2 years thanks to the smart charging capabilities and the computational speed is astounding. I program all day for my job and this gets the job done with no slow downs.
