Cobra Kai is a real deal mid 1990's Arcade Beat 'em up
If you enjoy the tv series you'll real like the game
I'm guessing it bridges the gape between Season2 & The Season 3 (early 2021)
(The story follows the same story Narrative as Rockstar's The Warriros)
Where you are seeing events unfold That were not in Season 1&2
How's the Beat 'em up enjoyment:
The game in many ways is actually better then SR4 (The fighting system itself is super deep)
This may actually turn people off
It reminds me of Sega's Power Stone a lot!
At first the controls may seem a little odd/stiff
But, once you get the hang off the controls and start to pick up on the fighting system
Within 45min. you'll either have the idea or flat out hate it
Honestly once you get used to the controls (It's one of the most satisfyingly fighting games I've played in years
You'll hit 100+ combos fairly quickly and it feels so good!
Mastering everything on the other hand isn't so much hard but, you have to put a little time in
The leveling up on each Charter is very deep will take a little time but, worth it (Lots of very cool unique moves)
The controls overall are very good (The more you play around you'll adapted to the Huge adventure
Graphics Are fairly good
You can tell the original SOR Trilogy was the blue print for this game
If you are nothing more then a Graphics snob you'll hate this game But, the substance inside the package is so good (The small problems should be overlooked because this is so much better then it has the right to be
There has already been a patch which helped the loading issues (The loading was very long on the launch day now it's much better)
Audio: Is pretty good overall with the tv series cast lending there voices (To do voice over work for there Characters)
The music is also pretty good overall (It's a shame they couldn't acquire the rights to various 1980's Rock/metal songs)
Despite the over saturation of the Beat 'em up sub genre this year alone (I think pound for pound Cobra Kai is actually the best one this year)
It's not perfect but, it's flat out fun and you'll just want to continue playing it and upgrading your Dojo and fighters
While it's not as pretty as SOR4 it's fighting runs circles around SOR4 Plus the story itself is massive
Hopefully more consumers/gamers actually give this particular title a chance
I could see it being lost in the shuffle like Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn was
Which is tragic games like Shaq-Fu & Cobra Kai are actually HQ games that deserve more mainstream attention/love!
I highly suggest fans of the show and beat 'em up fans actually considering supporting this very good game 7.5/10

Let me explain my 5 star rating. This is NOT a 5 star game in terms of matching AAA titles & their quality or modern graphics of the current gen. I am not even saying it's a GREAT game, but it is surprisingly solid for what it is.
If you are a fan Arcade Beat Em Up style of games & Cobra Kai, you will probably enjoy this game a lot! Arcade style combat is solid, there is a surprisingly deep skill tree, dojo upgrades for your dojo & other Dojo members. You can also play through the game with the Cobra Kai Dojo or The Miyago Do crew for a different playthrough experience, which adds some replay-ability. It's most fun to play in Co-Op with someone else, but it's still fun to play either way.
The reason I give this a 5 stars is because as far as games in this genre goes, it is one of the better Arcade Beat Em Ups I've played in the last couple years. Also the actors who play Johnny, Daniel, Hawk, Miguel & Sam all contributed their voices to the game. And there is at least 8 playable characters, four in each dojo.
I would say Rivercity Girls & Cobra Kai are two favorite Beat Em Up style game in the last few years. I was expecting Rivercity Girls to be decent, but Cobra Kai really surprised me. A very welcome surprise & gem of a game if you like Beat Em Ups.

If you are a fan of the show I think you will enjoy the game. It plays like Streets of Rage but unlike Streets of Rage you can change characters on the fly. It has co op & they use real the real actors to voice the game too.

Pretty fun game if you are a fan of the show or the older movies. This is one of the better platforms to play it on because the loading times are horrendous on this game. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR THE SWITCH because you will be waiting forever to play. This version on Series X, PS5 or on a beefier PC will be best way to play this game.

Pretty good challenging old school fighting game. Completed the Miyagi story and then playing through the Cobra Kai story is pretty fun. The only issues I had was with the graphics - looks like a mobile game. Other than that its a great game.
