A: I have bought this iPad and have it at home already—the box itself and the software (in the settings on the iPad itself) it states that it is indeed the latest, 7th Generation iPad. Maybe the model number is wrong on the website? If and when you buy it, just double check the back of the box, because it will clearly say “7th Generation”. I also have the 6th and 5th Generation iPads and their boxes say the same things, respectively.
Q: do you have to sign a cell plan to purchase at this price?
A: This price point is for the WiFi only version so you would not need to sign up for a cellular plan.

A: No but you can install just about any Google brand app you can think of. Moving from Android to iOS ecosystem is certainly easier than migrating from iOS to Android. That’s because Apple won’t share its apps on Android like Google does in iOS. Chrome, Gmail, Google Maps, Earth, Google News, etc. can be found in the Apple Store.
